Hello Lighthouse family,
Now that we are in lock-down and are settling into our ‘new normal’ for the next little while, let’s do our part in staying #wellapartcloseatheart and continue to care for each other and pray for God to lead us through this valley.
We are holding remote meetings for One Voice prayer time on Thursdays at 6pm to 7pm and The Point Youth are also holding remote meetings on Fridays at 6.30pm. Life Groups will make arrangements to connect remotely as well, so please stay in touch with your Life Group leader in this regard.
Although we are unable to get together physically as a church family, let us use all the great technology we have to keep in touch and to keep encouraging each other, specifically considering those who are alone or vulnerable.
The church office is still 100% operational, although all contact needs to be remote … so please feel free to still make contact on 06 377 0333 or email@example.com.
We will be posting short devotions and other encouraging material on on facebook, https://www.facebook.com/thelighthousechurchnz/ so please like and follow the facebook page to keep connected and shout out if you are having trouble connecting.
Our meeting on Sunday morning will be at 11am from now on and you can connect on,
– Freeview Terrestrial Channel 41 (UHF not satellite)
– Wairarapa TV Phone App from the apple or android store
– Live stream on https://stream.wairarapatv.co.nz
– Listen on Arrow FM 92.7
– Live stream on www.lighthouse.org.nz
It’s a great opportunity to use spare time at home with family as a positive thing. Be proactive with your time. Pray together and do fun stuff together that is relationship building.
Also remember that you have access to Right Now Media where you can find hours of excellent teaching and helpful resources for kids.
As you know we have a food bank at the church so if you know anyone who is in need please let us know.
For current information on the Covid-19 developments please visit the government website, https://www.health.govt.nz/our-work/diseases-and-conditions/covid-19-novel-coronavirus.
In Philippians 1:12, Paul says “I want you to know, brother and sisters, that my situation has actually turned out to advance the gospel.”, we will certainly be able to look back and say, ‘look brothers and sisters at how the Covid-19 situation has actually turned out to advance the gospel’.
We are in challenging times friends but this scripture is wonderful evidence that God is able to turn the most difficult of situations into opportunity. Paul’s imprisonment actually led to more people hearing the gospel, and so we trust that our self-isolation will bear the same fruit. Let us trust God and look for the ways He wants to use us in this stressful time to reach out with gospel love and comfort and encouragement to others.
